The present invention provides an organicnelectroluminescent element which is superior in luminance, nreliability, and thermal stability and is capable ofnselectively emitting light with comparative longnwavelengths such as red and good color purity and anlight-emitting device or display device incorporatedntherewith. The organic electroluminescent elementnconsists of a glass substrate (1), an anode (2), a holentransporting layer (10), an emitting layer (11), annelectron transporting layer (12), and a cathode (3),nwhich are sequentially laminated on top of the other. Thenemitting layer (11) is formed from a mixture composed ofnat least one species of the styryl compound representednby the general formula [I] below and a material withncharge transporting capability. nGeneral formula [I]n Y-CH=CH-X n(where X denotes an aryl group (such as phenyl group)nwhich has a substituent group (such as cyano group andnmethyl group), and Y denotes a group having a skeleton ofnaminophenyl group or the like.) |
