In incorporating ancolorant deterioration preventing agent in an ink-receivingnlayer, the colorant deteriorationnpreventing agent is dissolved in a solvent and isnapplied on the ink-receiving layer thereby forming anhigh concentration region containing the colorantndeterioration preventing agent at a highnconcentration and a low concentration regionncontaining the colorant deterioration preventingnagent at a low concentration, with the highnconcentration region positioned closer to thenrecording surface.
