abstract |
An esterified copolymer (P1) is obtained by reacting a polyol (a) with copolymer (b) containing reaction product obtained from copolymerization of at least one 9-200C polyalkene with at least one unsaturated acidic reagent in the presence of at least one free radical initiator. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) a product (P2) prepared by reacting at least one of (P1) with at least one cyclic carbonate; or with at least one of a boron compound selected from boron oxide, boron halide or esters of boric acid (preferably boric acid); (b) a lubricating oil concentrate comprising (wt.%): (P1) (10 - 90) and an oil of lubricating viscosity (90 - 10); (c) a lubricating oil composition (C1) comprising a major amount of oil of lubricating viscosity and a friction modifying amount of (P1); (d) a fuel concentrate comprising an inlet stable oleophillic organic solvent boiling at about 150 - 400[deg]F and (P1) (5 - 70 wt.%); and (e) a fuel composition (C2) comprising a major amount of a hydrocarbon fuel and a minor friction modifying amount of (P1). |
