titleOfInvention | Process for production of optically active 2-halogeno- carboxylic acids |
abstract | The invention provides processes for producing efficientlynoptically active 2-halogenocarboxylic acids useful in thenpreparation of drugs or the like and salts thereof withnamines. Specifically, an optically active 2-halogenocarboxylicnacid is produced by halogenating annoptically active amino acid in water in the presence of anhydrophobic organic solvent and nitrous acid with thenconfiguration retained and with the racemization inhibitednthrough the removal of 2-hydroxy- bromocarboxylic acidnformed as a by-product; the obtained optically active 2-halogenocarboxylicnacid is transferred to an aqueous phasenby converting it into a salt thereof with a base, followednby the removal of the organic phase; and the opticallynactive 2-halogenocarboxylic acid is transferred again to annorganic solvent phase, followed by the removal of thenaqueous phase, whereby an optically active 2-halogenocarboxylicnacid is obtained through the removal ofna halogen component. Further, a high-quality salt of annoptically active 2-halogenocarboxylic acid with an aminencan be obtained by a crystallization method wherein thenamine is added over the period of 1/2 hour or longer eitherncontinuously or in portions and/or wherein thencrystallization solvent consists of a hydrophobic organicnsolvent and a hydrophilic organic solvent. |
