Device for extracorporeal irradiation of a liquid containing bilirubin and method therefor |
abstract |
The invention relates to a device for extracorporeal irradiation of a bilirubin-containing body fluid of a patient (P), comprising a first (10) and a second (12) connectable to the patient (P) conduit means, one between the first (10) and the second (12) body fluid irradiation device (14) arranged and thus liquid-tightly connected and at least one controllable body fluid delivery device (16) arranged in the first (10) and / or second (12) conduit means, wherein by means of the at least one body fluid delivery means (16) a controllable flow the body fluid is producible by the conduit means (10, 12) and the body fluid irradiation means (14), the first conduit means being adapted to continuously dispense the body fluid of the body fluid irradiation means taken and irradiated to the patient (P) and the second conduit means is adapted to continuously supply the irradiated body fluid to the patient (P) and wherein the body fluid irradiation means (14) comprises a radiation source for emitting electromagnetic radiation having wavelengths greater than 430 nm, preferably in a wavelength range of 450 to 530 nm. The invention further relates to a corresponding method. |
