Process for producing riboflavin |
abstract |
A method of producing riboflavin by culturingnriboflavin-producing microbes in a culture ground usingna plant oil or an animal oil as a carbon source, formingnand accumulating riboflavin therein and collectingnriboflavin therefrom, wherein a carrier of a claynmineral having oil-adsorbing property, a chemicallyntreated product thereof or a calcium compound is madenpresent in the culture ground. The riboflavin isnproduced maintaining a high yield and at an increasednproduction rate at a low cost without requiringncumbersome operations for concentrating and recoveringnthe riboflavin. It is further allowed to recover thenriboflavin by effectively utilizing the waste plant oilnor the waste animal oil that is to be disposed of. |
