A composition of matter comprising a compound having the general formula:n [CpM(Ar F )Y] p nwherein nCp is a substituted or unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl ligand orncyclopentadienyl-type bulky ligand characterized by one or more open, acylicnor fused ring systems comprised of atoms selected from Groups 13-16 of thenPeriodic Table of Elements and wherein the ligands can include anheteroatom; nM is a metal selected from Groups 3-9 of the Periodic Table of Elements; nAr F is a fluorinated aryl group; nY is a hydrocarbyl group that can contain a heteroatom; and p is 1 or 2. Theninvention also contemplates a method of producing the compound and its usenin the oligomerization and polymerization of alpha olefins. |
