The frozen dessert includes ice cream, ice milk, gelato, milk shakes, frozen yogurt, pudding, sherbert, and sorbet. A method for preparing the frozen dessert products of the invention is described. A moisture barrier and a glassy matrix topping for frozen dessert products are also described.
