abstract | A process for dicarboxylic acid production which comprises oxidatively cleaving a cycloalkane with oxygen in a liquid phase with a continuous reactor in the presence of a catalyst to produce the corresponding dicarboxylic acid, characterized in that the residence time τ (hr) is regulated so as to be in the following range: 0.1 ≤ τ ≤ 50/c wherein c indicates the proportion (wt.%) of the cycloalkane based on all the liquids introduced. The catalyst may be a cobalt compound, manganese compound, or mixture of these. An imide compound having a cyclic imide skeleton may also be used as the catalyst. |
