The invention relates to a method for producing alkenyl aromatic compounds. Said compounds are obtained by reacting alkyl aromatic compounds with a suitable catalyst in the presence of water vapour and natural gas or methane, at a temperature of between 400 and 800 DEG C and at a pressure of between 0.01 and 10 bar, whereby the molar ratio of water vapour to alkyl aromatic compound is from 6.9:1 to 1:1, or the molar ratio of methane to alkyl aromatic compound is from 0.1:1 to 8:1. |
