abstract |
A process for preparing a carboxylic acid-based polymer comprising thensteps of (A) a first polymerization reaction step comprising introducing annaqueous solution of monomers containing an α-unsaturated carboxylic acid or ansalt thereof, an aqueous solution containing a hydrogensulfite, and a gasncontaining oxygen into a flow mixer to polymerize the monomers; and (B) ansecond polymerization reaction step comprising further polymerizing a reactionnproduct containing the unreacted monomer obtained in the first polymerizationnreaction step. There can be stably and productively prepared a carboxylic acid-basednpolymer having a high quality with suppressed coloration and containing anreduced amount of impurities even if the amount of gas containing oxygen usednin the initiation of the polymerization reaction is remarkably reduced. |
