titleOfInvention | Heat-sensitive recording material |
abstract | (A) The invention discloses a thermosensitive recording materialncomprising: a support; and a thermosensitive recording layer formed onnthe support, the thermosensitive recording layer containing an electron-donatingncolorless dye and an electron-accepting compound whichndevelops color upon a reaction with the electron-donating colorless dye, nwherein the thermosensitive recording material satisfies at least one ofnthe following conditions (1) to (3).n (1) an image density when thermal printing is performed from anside, of the support, having the thermosensitive recording layer withnprinting energy of 15.2 mJ/mm 2 is 1.20 or more, and the thermosensitivenrecording material is used for a recording device having a printing speednof 10 cm/sec or more; (2) the thermosensitive recording material contains a sensitizerncomprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting ofn2-benzyloxynaphthalene, dimethylbenzyloxalate, m-terphenyl,nethyleneglycol tolyl ether, p-benzyl biphenyl, 1,2-diphenoxymethylnbenzene, diphenyl sulfone and 1,2-diphenoxy ethane, and the imagendensity after the thermosensitive recording material is brought intoncontact with a heat source of 70°C for 5 seconds is 0.15 or less; (3) the electron-accepting compound is a compound representednby the following Formula (1) n Formula (1) nR 1 -Ph-SO 2 R 2 n wherein R 1 represents a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group, R 2 nrepresents -Ph, -NH-Ph, -Ph-OR 3 or -NH-CO-NH-Ph, R 3 represents annalkyl group, Ph represents a phenyl group and may be substituted with ansubstituent containing -SO 2 R 2 , and a volume-averaged grain size of thenelectron-donating colorless dye and electron-accepting compound is in anrange of 0.5 to 1.0 µm. n (B) A thermosensitive recording material comprises anthermosensitive recording layer containing an electron-donatingncolorless dye, an electron-accepting compound which develops colornupon a reaction with the electron-donating colorless dye and a sensitizer, nwherein the thermosensitive recording material satisfies at least one ofnthe following conditions (1) to (3).n (1) An image density when thermal printing is performed with anprinting energy is 1.20 or more, and the thermosensitive recordingnmaterial is used for a recording device having a printing speed of 10ncm/sec or more. (2) An image density after the thermosensitive recording materialnis brought into contact with a heat source of 70°C for 5 seconds is 0.15 ornless, and the sensitizer is 2-benzyloxynaphthalene or the like. (3) the electron-accepting compound is a compound representednby R 1 -Ph-SO 2 R 2 wherein R 1 represents a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group,nR 2 represents -Ph, -NH-Ph, -Ph-OR 3 or -NH-CO-NH-Ph, R 3 represents annalkyl group, Ph represents a phenyl group and may be substituted with ansubstituent containing SO 2 R 2 , and a volume-averaged grain size is in anrange of 0.5 to 1.0 µm. |
