abstract |
The present invention relates to human antibodies produced in non-human animals which specifically bind to the capsular polysaccharide (PPS-3) of <i> Streptococcus pneumoniae </i>. The invention also relates to methods of making the above antibodies in a non-human animal and expressing the antibodies in cells comprising hybridomas and recombinant host cell systems. The invention further relates to kits and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the antibodies of the invention, as well as methods of treating, inhibiting or preventing infection with <i> S. pneumoniae </i> or the conditions or disorders caused by this infection by administering to the patient the abovementioned pharmaceutical compositions. |
