Process for an improved preparation of a graft copolymer |
abstract |
A method for the production of ABS-type graft copolymers by emulsion polymerisation, in which the course of the reaction is constantly monitored by Raman spectrometry and corrective measures are taken when the concentration of a monomer deviates from the required value. A method for the production of ABS-type graft copolymers (I) by emulsion polymerisation of 5-95 wt% of a mixture of (A) 50-99 parts by weight (pts. wt.) vinylaromatic(s) and (B) 1-50 pts. wt. comonomer(s) in presence of (C) 95-5 wt% grafting base(s) with a glass transition point (Tg) below 10[deg]C, in which the reaction is constantly monitored by Raman spectrometry and corrective measures are taken when the concentration of a monomer deviates from the required value. |
