Laminated patient infusion device |
abstract |
A device (10) for delivering fluid to a patient including an exit port assembly (70) adapted to connect to a transcutaneous patient access tool, and a dispenser(40) including at least two laminated layers of material(252, 254) defining a passageway (250) connected to the exit port assembly (70) and an expandable accumulator (243) in fluid communication with the passageway (250) for controlling fluid flow from a reservoir (30) to the exit port assembly (70). The laminated construction provides many benefits including simplifying the design and manufacturing of the device (10) in order to further reduce the size, complexity and costs of the device (10) so that the device (10) lends itself to being small and disposable in nature. |
