titleOfInvention | Compact storage and shipping system for glyphosate herbicide |
abstract | A storage and shipping system for glyphosate herbicide is provided, comprising ancontainer having a capacity of about 0.1 to about 100,000 liters or more, substantially filled withnan aqueous solution of glyphosate, predominantly in the form of one or a mixture of thenpotassium and monoethanolammonium salts thereof, the solution having a glyphosate acidnequivalent concentration of at least about 30 percent by weight. The storage and shippingnsystem, by virtue of the relatively high specific gravity of the glyphosate salt solution, holds angreater weight of glyphosate than a system comprising an identical container substantially fillednwith an aqueous solution of the isopropylammonium salt of glyphosate at the same glyphosatenconcentration by weight. Alternatively, the container of the storage and shipping system can bensmaller than that of a container holding the same weight of glyphosate in the form of thenisopropylammonium salt. Further, a larger number of such smaller containers can be shipped inna given enclosed volume, thereby enabling the shipment of a larger weight of glyphosate in ansingle consignment. |
