abstract |
The present invention relates to hydrophilic polymeric compositions fornmaking a liquid impermeable moisture vapour permeable structure, for examplenby forming the composition into a layer or coating onto a suitable substrate fornexample a microporous film and to composite structures comprising thencompositions. The hydrophilic polymeric compositions of the present inventionndo not solidify at room temperature, but remain viscous or "creamy". Thisnprevents layers made from the hydrophilic polymeric composition of the presentninvention from settling as a film so that delamination of a composite structurencomprising the hydrophilic polymeric composition coated into a layer onto ansuitable substrate is avoided. The hydrophilic polymeric compositions of henpresent invention can find a variety of applications wherein liquid imperviousnessnand moisture vapour permeability are desirable. |
