Photothermographic material and image forming method using same |
abstract |
The invention provides a photothermographic materialnincluding: a support and an image-forming layer including annon-photosenisitive silver salt, a photosensitive silvernhalide, a binder, and a reduction agent disposed on the support, nwherein a silver iodide content in the photosensitive silvernhalide is in a range from 40 mol% to 100 mol%; and an averagensphere-equivalent diameter of the photosensitive silvernhalide is in a range from 0.3 µm to 5.0 µm. Thenphotothermographic material may further include a silverniodide complex forming agent as a compound which substantiallynreduces visible light absorption caused by the photosenisitivensilver halide after thermal development. At least 50%, in termsnof a projected area, of the photosensitive silver halide maynbe occupied by tabular silver halide grains having an aspectnratio of from 2 to 50 and being deposited with a silver saltnin an epitaxial growth manner. |
