A process for producing a boric acid ester compoundnwhich comprises esterifying a compound represented by thenformula (1):n X - [O(AO) n - H] a nwherein X represents a group independently selected from anresidue of a compound having 1 to 6 hydroxyl groups, annacryloyl group and a methacryloyl group with a boron-containingncompound represented by the formula (2):n (RO) 3 - B nwherein R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbonnatoms. The present invention can provide a boric acidnester compound which has a high ion conductivity, which isnuseful as a material for an electrochemical device, suchnas a secondary battery or a capacitor, having excellentnsafety and which is low in water and impurity contents, anpolymer electrolyte containing the boric acid esterncompound, and a secondary battery using the polymernelectrolyte. |
