titleOfInvention Method for extracting a firming active principle, resulting active principle and related compositions
abstract The invention concerns a method for extracting a cosmetic active principle, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: solubilizing in slightly alkaline medium whole ground shiitake mushroom, in a proportion of at least 20.0 g/l; enzymatic hydrolysis in the presence of a protease with basic pH; separating the soluble phase and the insoluble phase by any process or combination of processes, for example, elutriation, filtering or centrifuging; sterilizing filtration to obtain a total mesophilic flora less than 100 germs/g, free of yeasts and moulds. The resulting active principle serves to inhibit the activity on metalloproteinases, in particular MMP-1 and MMP-2 at the dermoepidermal junction, to increase TIMP-1 synthesis and to provide a firming effect on the skin.
