titleOfInvention | Plant glycogenin homologs and use thereof in starch modification |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method of altering starch synthesis in a plant by modifying the starch priming activity of the plant. In particular, this is achieved by altering the expression or activity of a starch primer which is preferably encoded by the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a sequence substantially homologous thereto. Also provided are plants in which the starch priming activity has been altered, and propagating material derived from such plants. |
