abstract | Phosphorus-substituted furan derivatives (I) are new. Phosphorus-substituted furan derivatives of formula (I) are new, where the ring carbon atoms have, independently, R or S configuration X = oxygen or is a bond; R1 and R2 = hydrogen, 1-20C (fluoro)alkyl, 2-20C alkenyl, 4-24C aryl, 5-25C aralkyl, 6-26C aralkenyl, NR6R7, OR7, R7O-(1-8C)alkyl, R6R7N-(1-8C)alkyl or COOR7; or they are -R8-SiR9R10R11; R6 and R7 = 1-8C alkyl, 5-15C aralkyl or 4-14C aryl, or R6 and R7 complete 4-20C cyclic amine residue; R8 = oxygen, methylene or bond; R9-R11 = 1-12C alkyl, 5-15C aralkyl or 4-14C aryl; R3 and R4 = R12, OR13 or NR14R15; R12-R15 = 1-2C alkyl, 5-15C aralkyl or 4-14C aryl, or NR14R15 is 4-20C cyclic amino residue, or R3 and R4 together form -O-R16-O-; R16 = 2-4C alkylene, 1,2- or 1,3-phenylene, 1,2-cyclohexylene, 1, 1'- or 1,2-ferrocenylene, 2,2'-(1,1'-binaphthylene or biphenylene) or 1,1'-(diphenyl-2,2'-methylene)-diyl, optionally substituted by fluoro, chloro, 1-8C alkoxy or alkyl; R5 = hydrogen, 1-20C (halo)alkyl, 4-24C aryl, 5-25C aralkyl or A-B-D; A = 1-12C alkylene or bond; B = CO, COO, CONH or CONR17; R17 = 1-20C alkyl, 4-24C aryl or 5-25C aralkyl; D = 1-8C alkyl, 4-24C aryl or 5-25C aralkyl, or B and D, provided A is not bond, are together cyano or (1-8C alkyleneoxy)n-(1-8C alkyl), or R17 and D together form a 4-12C cyclic amino; and n = 1-8.
