Recovery of phytonutrients such as carotenes, ubiquinones and phospholipids involves performing primary vacuum distillation of alkyl esters produced from palm oil at 80-220[deg]C and at less than 40mTorr to produce phytonutrients concentrate in residue, separating polar lipids and other impurities, subjecting the treated residue to secondary vacuum distillation. An independent claim is also included for carotenes, ubiquinones and phospholipids, which are produced by the above method. |
