abstract This invention relates to an improved process for the control of biocontaminationnin aqueous based polymeric emulsions contained in vessels having a headspace. Thenimprovement comprises monitoring the carbon dioxide concentration in the headspacenof the vessel using a direct reading carbon dioxide probe; and, then adding biocide whenna preselected concentration of carbon dioxide above the atmospheric carbon dioxidenconcentration is reached.
