The present invention provides a toner which ensuresnlarge mean charging amount and excellent transfer efficiencynwith no or little amount of reversely charged toner and providesnan image forming apparatus using the same. The toner is producednby adding external additives to resin particles containingna coloring agent, wherein the external additives are silicanparticles and modified silica particles of which outer surfacesnare modified with oxide or hydroxide of at least one metalnselected from a group consisting of titanium, tin, zirconium,nand aluminum, the amount of the modified silica particles beingn1.5 times or less of the amount the silica particles. The imagenforming apparatus uses the toner. |
