Subterranean fractures containing resilient proppant packs |
abstract |
Subterranean fractures are packed with resilient proppant particles which preventnthe production of sand and fines with produced fluids and prevent proppant flow-back inna subterranean zone penetrated by a well bore. As the fractures are formed, a liquidnhardenable resin component is mixed with a liquid hardening agent component and anliquid rubber component to form a hardenable resin composition. The hardenable resinncomposition is coated onto dry proppant particles which are suspended in the fracturingnfluid and placed in the fractures. The hardenable resin composition on the resinncomposition coated proppant particles is allowed to harden and consolidate the proppantnparticles into high strength resilient permeable packs. |
