abstract It is an objective of the present invention to provide annovel gene recombination-based method for producing desirednpeptides that allows effective, large scale production of thendesired peptides. n According to the method of the present invention,nexcision of peptides of interest is achieved by the use of thenright-handed scissors ( i.e. , S-cyanylation reaction) alongnwith the left-handed scissors ( i.e. , treatment with cyanogennbromide, enterokinase, factor Xa, or the like). The methodnutilizes the excision technique in conjunction with the tandemnrepeat technique and thereby provides a useful genenrecombination-based technique for peptide synthesis that isnparticularly effective in the large-scale synthesis of low-molecularnweight peptides.
