abstract | This invention provides a method which is capable of continuously supplying an HIPE into a plurality of mold elements and allowing quantity manufacture of porous products of a complicated shape without entailing occurrence of a molding flash.The method is directed to manufacturing porous products W by supplying a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion into mold elements 11, 12 and polymerizing and shaping the emulsion therein and is characterized by moving at a fixed speed a shaping unit 10 provided with a mold element 11 on one side having a depressed part 11b formed in a smooth mold face 11a and a mold element 12 on the other side possessed of a smooth mold face 12a contacting the mold face 11a and furnished with a corresponding depressed part 12b forming a cavity of a stereoscopic shape together with the depressed part or by virtue of the entry thereof into the depressed part 11b and in the meanwhile and prior to the union of the two mold elements continuously supplying the emulsion into the two mold elements 11 and 12, transferring the shaping unit into a polymerizing device 30 subsequently to the union of the mold elements, and shaping and polymerizing the emulsion therein. |
