An image forming apparatus (1) which includesn a photoreceptor (9) includingn an electroconductive substrate (9a) ; a photosensitive layer including a chargengeneration material and a charge transport material, andnoverlying the electroconductive substrate (9b) ; and a protection layer (9c) including an inorganicnfiller in an amount of from 3 to 25 % by weight based on totalnweight of the protection layer and a binder resin, and overlyingnthe photosensitive layer, a charger (10) charging the photoreceptor; an irradiator (11) forming an electrostatic latent imagenon the photoreceptor; an image developer (12) developing the electrostaticnlatent image with a developer including a toner to form a tonernimage on the photoreceptor; a transferer (14) transferring the toner image onto antransfer material; and a cleaner (25) cleaning the photoreceptor, including anrotatable core (27) and a looped brush fiber (28) provided onnthe surface of the rotatable core so as to contact thenphotoreceptor, wherein the top of the looped brush fibern(28a) is positioned on the upstream side from the root ofnthe looped brush fiber (28b) relative to the rotatingndirection of the rotatable core. |
