abstract | The invention relates to a method for oxidising an aromatic aldehyde into the corresponding carboxylic acid. According to the invention, the method of preparing an aromatic acid by oxidation of an aromatic aldehyde consists in performing the oxidation in a basic medium of an aromatic aldehyde, using molecular oxygen or a gas containing same, in the presence of a catalyst. Said preparation method is characterised in that the oxidation is performed in the presence of an effective quantity of a palladium- and/or platinum-based catalyst in conditions such that the oxidation takes place in the diffusion regime. |
