abstract The personal elevator system is based around a prepared shaft module (3) that passes through several floors (23-25). Ideally the preparation is made at the time of building for later installation by having removable floor inserts. Also the roof has a removable section to allow the shaft to be installed using a crane. The elevator cabin (4) is raised and lowered on steel cables (6,7) using a winch (9).
