Method for testing the hormonal, particularly (anti)androgenic, effects of substances (A). Method for testing the hormonal, particularly (anti)androgenic, effects of substances (A) comprises: (a) contacting (A) with cells transfected with two vectors, one containing DNA that encodes a nuclear receptor protein (NRP), or its fragment, and the other expressing the co-modulator HSRNAAM (arginine methyltransferase) or its fragment; and (b) measuring the transcriptional activity of the NRP in presence of HSRNAAM and/or the effect of (A) on interaction between NRP and HSRNAAM, by protein-protein or protein-DNA interaction methods. An Independent claim is also included for determining disorders in the co-modulatory mechanism between androgen receptor (AR) and HSRNAAM, or their fragments. |
