abstract |
A method and apparatus for delivering solvent free marking material tona receiver is provided. A printhead (103) includes a discharge device having an inletnand an outlet with a portion of the discharge device (105) defining a delivery path.nAn actuating mechanism is moveably positioned along the delivery path. A materialnselection device (160) has an inlet (166) and an outlet (168) with the outlet of thenmaterial selection device being connected in fluid communication to the inlet of thendischarge device. The inlet of the material selection device is adapted to be connectednto a pressurized source (102a, 102b, or 102c) of a thermodynamically stable mixturenof a fluid and a marking material, wherein the fluid is in a gaseous state at a locationnbeyond the outlet of the discharge device. |
