An electrode array catheter, typically used fornmapping, pacing and ablation, includes an electrodenassembly 2, 62 which may be slidably mounted within andelivery sheath for movement between retracted andndeployed positions. The electrode assembly includes annablation electrode 10, 90 and a plurality of mappingnelectrodes 26, 114 which are grouped in pairs andnnaturally assume a three-dimensional array whenndeployed. The electrodes are distributed to contact anportion of the chamber wall 130 surrounding the targetnsite. The electrode assembly tip has a coiled conicalnshape 24 in one embodiment and has a number of axiallynextending, radially outwardly curved arms 118 in anothernembodiment. A flat flexible circuit 110, having axiallynextending electrode traces 112 connecting proximalnterminals 108 to distal electrode pads 114, is slit 116naxially and is performed and to create the curved arms. |
