abstract Measurement of the concentration of a specificncomponent in a test liquid is made more efficient by obtainingna mixed liquid of the test liquid and a reagent liquid withoutnhaving to perform a stirring operation. A mixed liquidncomprising the test liquid and the reagent liquid is obtainednby injecting the reagent liquid into the test liquid withnstirring caused by the injection; and with the test liquidnbeing irradiated with light, at least a first opticalncharacteristic of the test liquid before the injection of thenreagent liquid and a second optical characteristic of the testnliquid after the injection of the reagent liquid are measurednto measure the concentration of the specific component in thentest liquid from the first optical characteristic and thensecond optical characteristic.
