METHOD FOR DETERMINING LYSOPHOSPHOLIPASE D ACTIVITY |
abstract |
Lysophospholipids represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein R1 and R2 are different from each other and one of them represents a saturated or unsaturated C8-22 fatty acid residue while the other represents hydrogen or acetyl; and X is a chromophore; a method of assaying lysophospholipase D activity characterized by using such a phospholipid as a substrate; a method of screening a substance inhibiting lysophospholipase D activity; and reagents and reagents kits useful in these methods. Use of these novel lysophospholipids as a substrate makes it possible to specifically assay lysophospholipase D activity at a high sensitivity. Moreover, use of a chromophore which is safe and can be easily detected makes it possible to assay a large number of samples quickly. |
