abstract | The present invention concerns a process for producing annS,S-ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid iron alkali saltnhaving low contents of a lactam compound and annethylenediaminemonosuccinic acid, said process comprising thenstep ofn washing a concentrated liquid or dried substance of annaqueous solution of S,S-ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acidniron alkali salt with at least one water-containing alcoholnhaving 1 to 4 carbon atoms; as well as a process for producing an S,S-ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinicnacid iron alkali salt which comprises: dispersing an iron oxide in an aqueous medium and addingnthereto S,S-ethylenediamine-N,N'-disuccinic acid or an alkalinsalt thereof continuously or intermittently to carry out anreaction while maintaining pH of a reaction liquid at fromn4.5 to 7 and a reaction temperature at from 70 to 100 °C. |
