An electrode material for an electrochemical devicencomprising a composite of a particulate conductive material andna metal oxide is prepared by mixing and dispersing the particulatenconductive material with a colloidal solution of an oxide of annelement in a range of from Group 3 to Group 12 in the fourth, fifthnand sixth periods of the Periodic Table and heating the mixture.nThis composite has a high capacity even at a high current densitynand good filling properties, and is useful as an electrode materialnfor an electrochemical device such as a lithium secondary batterynor an electrochemical capacitor. When the electrode materialncomprising this composite is used, an electrode can be producednwithout any binder, and the electrochemical device having goodnoutput characteristics can be constructed. |
