The present invention provides a method for producingnvarious types of arylbis(perfluoroalkylsulfonyl)methanenhaving a bulky aryl group and an electron-accepting aryl groupnin which synthesis was conventionally considered to bendifficult, at high efficiency; a novelnarylbis(perfluoroalkylsulfonyl)methane that can be widelynapplied to asymmertric catalyst, various types of functionalnmaterials and the like; and a metallic salt thereof. Innaddition, excellent catalysts are also provided. An arylnhalomethane is reacted with a sodium trifluoromethane sulfinate,nthe arylmethyl triflone produced thereby is reacted with ant-BuLi and the like, the lithium salt of the arylmethyl triflonenobtained is reacted with a trifluoromethane sulfonic acidnanhydride, and an arylbis(trifluoromethylsulfony)methane suchnas pentafluorophenylbis(triflyl)methane, {4-(pentafluorophenyl)-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorophenyl}bis(triflyl)methanenand the like arenobtained at a high yield. |
