abstract |
An apparatus is provided which allows a subject to determinenby himself/herself whether or not he/she has a status apt to developna deep-vein thrombosis in a region of lower limb in a simple manner.nA subject is instructed to change his/her body orientation. By measuring the bioelectric impedancenat this time, a transfer of body fluid (blood) within the body cannbe captured. A variation between the bioelectric impedance valuesnmeasured respectively before and after a posture change isncompared with a reference value. Alternatively, a blood storagencapacity of the lower limb region may be estimated from a gradientnof bioelectric impedance represented by a variation thereof pernunit time so as to determine whether or not the subject has thenstatus apt to develop the deep-vein thrombosis in the lower limbnregion. |
