A process for producing an optically active isomer of ethyl 7-[2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluorophenyl)quinolin-3-yl]-3,5-dihydroxy-6-heptenoate which comprises optically resolving, at a high efficiency, a mixture of optical isomers of the compound, characterized in that a packing comprising a support and cellulose tris(4-chlorophenylcarbamate) deposited thereon in a specific proportion is used to chromatographically isolate the target isomer under such conditions as to result in a specific retention volume. |
