abstract An ink composition containing colored particlesnproduced by mixing together a solution containing anhydrophobic dye, a hydrophobic polymer, an organic solventnwith a high boiling point and a water solubility of 4 g ornbelow, and an auxiliary solvent with a boiling point of 200°Cnor below and a water solubility below 25 g, and an aqueousnmedium for emulsification and dispersion, and subsequentlynremoving the auxiliary solvent, where the mean particle sizenof the colored particles is 0.01 to 0.5 µm with a coefficientnof variation of the particle size within 45 %, and a specificngravity thereof is 0.9 to 1.2. Also, the ink-jet recordingnmethod comprising: jetting an ink composition containingncolored particles which contain at least one hydrophobic dyenand at least one hydrophobic polymer on as image-receivingnmaterial to record images and subjecting the colorednparticles to a heating process and/or pressurizing processnto melt and fix the colored particles.
