A touch panel having an excellent durability under a high temperature and high humidity environment and a method of manufacturing the touch panel; the touch panel (1), wherein a pair of transparent glass base plates (1a) and (2a) having transparent electrodes (1b) and (2b) disposed thereon, respectively, are disposed opposite to each other through a seal part (3), the wall thickness of the seal part (3) being set within the range of 8 νm or less (not including 0), whereby the moisture can be prevented from invading into a clearance between the pair of transparent glass base plates (1a) and (2a) through the seal part (3). |
