The invention relates to a control apparatus for a direct injectionnengine having an intake valve (6), an exhaust valve (7) and a fuelninjection valve (8) for injecting fuel directly into a cylinder of thenengine and in which fuel injection by the fuel injection valve (8) isnperformed during intake stroke or during compression stroke of thenengine, has combustion stabilizing device (40) for stabilizingncombustion in the cylinder (1). The combustion stabilizing devicen(40) has next operation mode determination device (50) for selectingneither an operation mode of recovering the combustion stability bynfuel injection during intake stroke or an operation mode ofnrecovering the combustion stability by fuel injection duringncompression stroke when a deteriorated state of combustion isndetected in fuel injection during compression stroke. |
