abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the production of trimethylolpropanenwith a low APHA color number, where (a) n-butyraldehyde and / or 2,2-dimethylolbutyraldehydenwith formaldehyde in the presence of inorganic base to trimethylolpropane-containingnReaction mixtures is implemented, (b) from the trimethylolpropane obtained in (a)ncontaining reaction mixture for the production of crude trimethylolpropane water andninorganic salts are at least partially removed and (c) that obtained from (b)nraw trimethylolpropane by distillation in one or more low boiler fractions,none or more middle boiler fractions predominantly containing trimethylolpropane and onenor several high boiler fractions is separated. |
