abstract | The process permits producing metal and metal oxidencoatings from precursor solutions, as occurs in thentechnique called sol-gel, but with the advantage that thenprecursor solutions do not include metal alkoxides to benhydrolyzed, for which reason the long term stability isnexcellent. n The precursor solutions of the coatings are preparednby dissolving a metal salt in ethanol with a complexingnagent to favour its stability and/or an additive tonprovide the solution with the necessary properties tondeposit it homogeneously on a substrate. n The precursor solutions are deposited by extractingnthe substrate at a constant rate, centrifuging ornspraying, they are dried at temperatures between 50 andn150ºC and are densified by means of a thermal treatmentnat temperatures between 300 and 600ºC, for a time rangingnfrom 10 to 60 minutes. |
