The present invention provides a method for promoting cellnsurvival, which method comprises inhibiting BARD1 activity. This method maynbe performed by contacting a cell with an agent that inhibits BARD1 activity.nSuch agent may be an agent that inhibits BARD 1 expression, such as anBARD1 antisense nucleic acid. The method of the invention is especially usefulnfor alleviating damage in cells subjected to ischemia. |
