The diseases which can bentreated include those caused by fungal infections (such as Saprolegnianparasitica ); protozoan infections, whether flagellate (such asn Ichthyobodo necatrix ) or ciliate (such as Icthyophthirius multifiliis );nbacteria (such as Flavobacterium branchiophilum ); and myxobacteria (suchnas Cytophaga psychrophila ). Also disclosed is a method of disinfectingnfish tanks and/or equipment, using a solution of bronopol.
