abstract The present invention is directed to provide a heat-sensitive recording-type material for a litho printing plate, wherein an image having a high resolution can be reproduced at a high, heat-sensing responsiveness and with no phenomenon, and to provide a litho printing plate, wherein a high-quality printing can be achieved at a high resolution using the heat-sensitive recording-type material, and a process for producing the litho printing plate. In a heat-sensitive recording-type material for a litho printing plate, a litho printing plate and a process for producing the latter according to the present invention, a carboxylic compound having a functional group comprising a carboxyl group protected by a vinyl ether is used, whereby a hydrophilic surface is converted into a lipophilic and hydrophobic surface or vice verse by applying a heat during production of the plate, thereby eliminating problems associated with the prior art.
