titleOfInvention PREPARATION OF POLYALCOHOLS
abstract A process for the preparation of polyhydric alcohols which comprises subjecting a polyhydric alcohol whose hydroxyl groups are protected to irradiation with microwave in the presence of either a basic compound or an acid exhibiting at 25°C an acid dissociation constant (pKa) of -8 to 3 to thereby conduct deblocking. According to this process, polyhydric alcohols whose hydroxyl groups are protected can be easily deblocked to thereby attain industrially advantage preparation of polyhydric alcohols.
